Sheikh Abdul Wahab Al-Shaibi is the new guardian of the Holy Ka’bah, following the passing of Sheikh Saleh Al Shaiba.

In a poignant ceremony held last evening, Sheikh Abdul Wahab bin Zain Al-Abidin Al-Shaibi has been inaugurated as the new guardian of the Holy Ka’bah, following the passing of Sheikh Saleh Al Shaiba. 


Sheikh Abdul Wahab, who is 78 years old, is the 110th successor of Uthman bin Talha, a revered companion of the Prophet Muhammad (May Allah be pleased with him).


The traditional handover ceremony, steeped in centuries-old customs, took place in the presence of dignitaries, family members, and prominent figures from the community. During the ceremony, the keys to the Ka’bah were formally handed over to Sheikh Abdul Wahab.


symbolizing his new role and responsibilities as the custodian of this sacred site.


The Al-Shaiba family has held the honor of safeguarding the Ka’bah for generations, a duty that carries profound spiritual significance for Muslims worldwide. As the new guardian, Sheikh Abdul Wahab inherits a legacy that dates back to the early days of Islam. 


In his (Sheikh Abdul Wahab bin Zain Al-Abidin Al-Shaibi) speech,  expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the traditions and sanctity of the Holy Ka’bah.
